Teresa Metheny

Teresa Metheny brings more than 35 years of experience in the financial industry to her role as a Loan Consultant with New American Funding. She began her career at Discover in Delaware and later spent more than two decades in automotive finance and branch management before transitioning into mortgage lending in 2018.

Licensed in Delaware and Maryland, Teresa serves clients throughout both states, with a strong focus on the Delaware beach communities, including Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Ocean View, and the surrounding coastal areas. She works with a wide range of borrowers, from first-time homebuyers to clients purchasing primary residences, second homes, vacation properties, and investment homes.

Teresa believes mortgage lending should feel personal, not transactional. She takes the time to understand each client’s unique situation, explain available financing options, and provide thoughtful guidance from application through closing. Clients and referral partners appreciate her patience, responsiveness, attention to detail, and commitment to keeping everyone informed throughout the process.

She also values the long-term relationships she has built with real estate professionals, builders, attorneys, financial planners, and past clients. Whether helping with a current transaction or simply answering questions, Teresa strives to be a trusted and accessible resource for the people she serves.

Outside of work, Teresa enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time at home in Milton, Delaware, with her husband, family, and their two Yorkshire Terriers, Charleston and Magnolia.
